Fermanagh Ramblers

Latest COVID-19 guidelines

Fermanagh Ramblers & Hillwalkers was founded in 1991 and is affiliated to UFRC (Ulster Federation of Rambling Clubs). Walks are held on Sundays throughout the year and we offer three different grades of walks.

Grade 1– Generally flat walks lasting 2-3 hours e.g. forest tracks.
Grade 2– Moderate hill walks less than 400 meters in altitude and roughly 3-4 hours long.
Grade 3– Fairly difficult mountain hikes 400m+ in altitude, 5-6 hours duration requiring a good level of physical fitness.

Two walking calendars i.e. Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter are produced each year by our volunteer leaders.   We meet in Enniskillen and then car share to the beginning of the walking area. We place a lot of emphasis on safety and our leaders are all trained.

Walks are mostly in Fermanagh and the neighbouring counties of Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim, however we also organise trips to other parts of Ireland as well as Scotland, Wales, Lake District and Europe.

Membership runs from 1stApril to 31stMarch each year and is open to anyone over 18 years of age.  Non-members may participate in up to two walks in any membership year as a casual walker, after which they must join the club to continue walking with us. They should have a reasonable/good level of fitness and appropriate walking gear.

The club attracts new members who are active hill walkers but who also enjoy the social element of being in a Club along with the safety of walking in a group.   We also welcome and encourage beginners or those with limited experience in hill walking.  All members are well supported so that they can enjoy the great outdoors.

If you would like to find out more about the club please refer to our Club_Guidelines, Constitution and GDPR_Privacy_notice.
